My opinion: Skin is fine.
Remove post count or at least the title thingy. It creates this unneeded feeling of competition, and leads to spam (trust me, it will happen unless you have regular competent moderation* (no offense to mods) and a Spam section for things like forum games). I'm just saying this because it does look like SummerStory has some potential and may get pushed into the top 10, so lots of randoms are gonna be coming in with the same problems arising all the time.

*This means that there's at least 1 mod half the time on here that deletes spam, helps n00blets, and keeps things on topic

Also, maybe do that thing where people are forced to read the sticky before participating in these forums. I keep seeing people complain about being stuck at login when there's a simple solution posted on the main sticky (yes, the blank password thing does work, even if it takes a few tries). And the number of people asking about pirates is skyrocketing.

Very nice, but I still think the post count plays somewhat importance. I would rather take instructions from someone with 1000+ posts than someone who just made an account.

Just remove the post count for some sections, such as:

Remove:
Burning
Spam
Chat
Video's
Introductions/Goodbye's

Keep:
Suggestions
Help
Discussion
And any which acctually help people

Maybe 100 is a bit much, so maybe make it like those competitions where you have to give with 25 words or less a reason why they should/shouldn't be a GM, instead of just saying "I vote for ya" or "+1" or "Good luck". So then they can have some cheese with their whine.
